Born and Raised around the Ann Arbor,MI area, a 27 year old Malik Coleman, A.K.A MJtheArtist brings sounds of RnB/Pop/Rap to life with his very own level of versatility and delivery within his music. Topics varying from heartbreak with women to dealing with mental health issues and going through life's challenges can all be heard within his lyrics. Music has always been a factor in MJ's life. Both of his grandfathers were musicians in their time and his mother was always involved in the church choir. No matter where he went, he was always surrounded by people singing and playing instruments around him. Though he has yet to master any instruments himself, MJ has found a confidence comfortability in songwriting and finding different ways to think out of the box within his music. MJ’s main mission with his music is to make people feel good all while addressing things most people don’t talk about in their own lives, his album STFY is a prime example of that.
