Hejira Celebrating Joni

‘Hejira’ is an outstanding 7-piece band set up to celebrate and honour the masterpiece works of Joni Mitchell, mostly from the late ‘70s. Having released the albums ‘Court And Spark’ ‘The Hissing of Summer Lawns’ and ‘Hejira’, Joni toured briefly in 1979 with a band formed from the crème de la crème of contemporaneous musicians (Pat Metheny, Lyle Mays, Michael Brecker, Jaco Pastorius and Don Alias). The tour was recorded, producing the much-lauded live album, ‘Shadows And Light’; it is from these works that the band Hejira is drawing the spirit and body of its repertoire.

Hejira comprises highly experienced, world-class musicians whose primary concern is to serve the music.
They have been touring extensively throughout 2025, performing songs that are beautiful, exciting and, as always with Joni, totally touching in the poignancy of the lyrics. Hejira captivate the audience with their impeccable musicianship, and through experiencing live the music of, arguably, the greatest singer-songwriter of the 20th century.

“They came to listen because they love Joni Mitchell, but they went away loving Hejira.” - Jazzwise
