Josh Steinhart

Josh Steinhart has been writing and performing Roots Rock and Americana music for decades, as a keyboardist in multiple bands, and as a solo artist

Josh takes his inspiration from classic Roots, Americana and Alt Country groups like The Band, The Jayhawks, Gillian Welch, Bob Dylan, and Tom Petty, as well as newer groups like Dawes, The Avett Brothers and Jason Isbell.

A former high school music teacher in the New York Public Schools, Josh released his debut album, "Howlin' At The Moon" in 2019 and a follow up single with fellow songwriter Annie Bacon, "Before The Morning", in 2021. He has recorded with musicians who play with Ingrid Michaelson, A Great Big World, Elle King and The Lone Bellow.

Of his track "Picture On The Wall", Chillfiltr says "Vibrant energy from the piano track couples with a southern style from the lap-steel to deliver an immediate blast of alt-country roots. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Josh moved to the Detroit area in 2018 where he lives with his wife and two children.
