Jespfur

On the decor of a desolate and rain-soaked pavement wanders a one-man orchestra, equipped with a scratched up sampler, a bunch of guitar pedals, and a tender falsetto. There’s a touching and comforting loneliness to the work of multi-instrumentalist Jesper Vervoort (AKA Jespfur). On his mesmerizing full-length, ‘Pedestrians Of Bright Silence’ (2024), the listener follows Jespfur on hands and knees through frantically collaged pieces of hypnagogic pop, experimental rock and neo-psychedelia. A close-quarters pursuit through an unsettled collection of dusty but razor-sharp patchworks.
