About Born to Resist: A Foo Fighters Tribute

Formed by a group of lifetime, semi-professional musicians, Born to Resist was the seemingly inevitable result of vocalist/guitarist Kenny Berezowski's life long obsession with the Foo Fighters. Even before there was the Foo Fighters, Kenny and lead guitarist, Jeffrey Hastings, could be found shredding Nirvana tunes in their high-school band. From the moment Dave Grohl released the Foo's debut album, they would forever be added to their repertoire.

Kenny and Jeffrey would later go on to form the infamous acoustic rock duo Dusted Sunday. As such, they entertained a variety of audiences, playing both original and cover material. No gig opportunity was off limits. From campfires, dinner gatherings, backyard parties and get-togethers to hosting open mic nights and full night gigs at a pub, they blasted the crowd with less than typical acoustic tunes, including many from Foo Fighters and Nirvana.

Years later, Jeffrey was part of another band No Days. When life's happenings brought Kenny back to Calgary, he joined No Days as their bass player. Though enjoying his role in this band, he knew he wasn't making the most of his potential. Knowing his love for the Foo's, and his ability to sing stylistically similar to Dave Grohl, he had often joked about starting a Foo Fighters tribute band. It was with a 'gentle' push and the support of his girlfriend, Paula, that the idea would become reality. Paula convinced long time friend and bassist of many of her musical endeavors over the years, Jim Humber, to sign on. Jeffrey was the obvious choice to jump into the lead guitar role and drummer JP was poached from No Days to round out the group.

Our goal is simply to go out and have a blast rocking your faces off, while doing our best to do justice the the band that so many love. And not just the Foo Fighters, but anything that Dave Grohl is a part of. We want to provide the same balls out, rock and roll experience that Grohl himself would give you live, but obviously on a smaller scale.
