About MJ Nel
MJ Nel is a singer, songwriter, producer, composer and multi-instrumentalist based in Pretoria, South Africa. After making his songwriting debut in 2018 as lead singer of the band Glimpse, an Afrikaans/English Indie Folk band from Potchefstroom that has shared the stage with some of the biggest names in South African music, ranging from Matthew Mole, Jeremy Loops and Prime Circle to Spoegwolf and Die Heuwels Fantasties.
MJ is known for his vibrant and exciting live shows across South Africa and a deep understanding of himself and the music he writes and listens to.
MJ is now building a solo career for the first time and the aim is to diversify and explore his sound while still staying true to his folk songwriting routes and collaborating with as many different talented artists as humanly possible.
MJ's social media is a main artery in his artistic life and a perfect place to get to know him on a more personal level and learn more about the projects he's working on.
