Sara is an expressive and gifted musician, and this program was stunning in its breadth and depth, as well as its cultural significance due to her intentional highlighting of women composers, past and present.
I was particularly moved by the Lilith Guegamian piece where she sings while playing. Sara's unique timbre and vocal talent, combined with her expertise on guitar, means musical art at a very high level, indeed!
Thank you Sara, and Roosevelt for encouraging brave new artists to grow to new levels of expression and virtuosity while being free to also challenge rigid cultural norms.
