Sam and the rest of the band were great! It was an old-school acoustic with condenser mics show, and the audience was great at trying to stay quiet for the music. The venue is a good size and their drink offerings are good. Definitely worth seeing and hearing!

Sam & Vince were excellent! True artists & entertainers. They were perfect together! I would absolutely see them again. Just NOT at the Boston City Winery. The venue was less than stellar. They had the tables packed in too close to each other. I paid extra to sit in the front, center row. I was being squashed by some rude and drunk women behind me. I had to leave my seat for the second set and stand on the side of the room for the remainder of the show. City Winery should put their customer's comfort over trying to sell a few extra tickets.

I love when artists manage to strip away the commonality of a "show" and rather choose to offer their audience a true experience. Sam Grisman performs with a transparency that is so honest, it could almost make you uncomfortable if you're not fully open to it (kind of like the conviction of when you're sitting in church and you secretly feel like the entire message is directed at you). If not for the social expectation of clapping to show appreciation, I would have quietly submerged myself into whatever sound & sight were offered for the night. My preference for live shows is largely based on what can be taken away visually; seeing how a musician has cultivated a sort of relationship with their instrument - it sometimes baffles me. Sam Grisman contorts and twists himself with deliberate (yet surreal) movements that are somehow intuitively read between himself and the other wildly talented musicians on stage. It is phenomenal, and fantastic, and all the best things that live music should be. Following the show, I drove home for two hours, fell asleep, and woke up at 5am still feeling starry-eyed. I immediately messaged a friend and bought tickets for Bearsville in March (I've been meaning to get back there, anyway). So looking forward to sharing that experience again. All the best things.

Such a great approach to this timeless music. Not quite bluegrass, not quite Dawg, and a take on Jerry like I’ve never heard before. Incredibly skilled players. And so comfortable up on stage. They make it look real easy. A warm hug.

I had a great time. The concerts was warm and intimate and both the band and the audience had a lot of fun. The repertoire was interesting and eclectic and the musicianship was superb.

Much more PURE Jerry than any other band portraying his music. They are bringing the music of Jerry Garcia to the bluegrass scene from a young man that grew up with Jerry Garcia and his Dad listening to how the music was meant to be played (bluegrass /Folk/acoustic & electric) JGB / Jerry & David Grisman. Sam Grisman and his band made the evening a magical and intimate night of Jerry Garcia and their own tunes untainted by how Dead & Co. have tainted the real JG music IMO . Sam and his band are who I recommend to all those who are loyal to Jerry Garcia’s acoustic, bluegrass and electric roots. In addition, The Haw River Ballroom added to the magic of the evening, an old mill tucked away outside of Chapel Hill Nc elevated on the River banks of the infamous Haw River in the Piedmont of North Carolina. Sam and the band stayed after their show and were all personally interacting with the fans as the ballroom emptied out into the star lit Haw River valley.

Loved the concert in Brattleboro. Time number 3 seeing and hearing all of you. Love how much your love playing comes through, love the connection between all of you, love that I am inspired to learn and play more songs myself and play with others. It was a joy, an inspiration, and SO MUCH FUN. PS I am learning Grateful Dead songs through all of you. Thank you as had not been open to this music before and now I love it so much. Your father must be so proud. OMG your touring schedule is intense. Woodstock tonight. Have another great night.

Sam Grisman Project was excellent as usual! They never disappoint! White Eagle Hall is a great venue!
