Cody Allen

Singer/songwriter Cody Allen draws from a deep well of musical traditions and past experiences to create distinctively personal music that is timeless, genuine, and full of passion while reflecting the many layers of his ability to express himself as an original artist. Incorporating elements of folk, rock, country, and beyond, Allen has created a dynamic, profoundly expressive body of work that embodies a wide musical vision and an expressive storytelling sensibility that are close to his heart and wholly his own. Since he began recording in 2006, Cody Allen has maintained a vigorous work ethic and his perseverance has yielded a wealth of compelling music. After making a splash with his “We Know How to Love” album he has continued to gain respect and acceptance with his widely acclaimed sound. Ignite finds Allen doubling down on his creative strengths, expanding and deepening his musical reach on such new originals as the first single “Rush of Blood”. Allen teamed with producer Steve Foley to record Ignite at Ottawa’s Audio Valley Studios. For the occasion, he recruited a diverse cast of talented players, including his own touring combo. He designed the sessions with a communal recording approach to push himself creatively, while bringing several new musical elements including the more prominent use of electric guitars and vocal harmonies to the table.
