About Eliza Marshall

Cross genre music making has always been at the core of flautist Eliza Marshall’s creative world, with a particular love of the music of Scotland and Africa, Steve Reich and Paul Simon. Weaving layers of rhythms, percussion and electronics, spoken word and guitars - as well as her huge array of flutes, whistles and bansuris. 2025 sees Eliza spring forth solo, from two decades of numerous collaborations, with her latest release ‘New Birth’ on Real World X.

Eliza has been captivating audiences worldwide for 25 years - working with legendary musicians like Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder, The Divine Comedy and most recently with Florence and the Machine at BBC Proms 2024. She's toured with sarod maestro Amjad Ali Khan, Britten Sinfonia, Peter Gabriel, gracing prestigious stages including Wembley Stadium and Red Rocks Amphitheater, producing her pioneering multi-media-production Freedom To Roam - garnering 5* reviews from Morning Star, 4* from Songlines and standing ovations around the UK, and has appeared at festivals including Cambridge and Cropredy with her award-winning band Ranagri.
She has also enchanted listeners with her evocative flute playing in prestigious productions such as Joby Talbot's ballet The Winter's Tale at royal opera houses in London, Brisbane, Hamburg and Vienna, and as a soloist with BBC Concert Orchestra for Radio 3, on soundtracks for Lord of the Rings, The Great Gatsby, and David Attenborough's A Life On Our Planet.
Eliza is a proud recipient of an ARAM, PRS Women Make Music, Arts Council England support, patron for the Born Free Foundation, and is endorsed by One World Flutes, Christoph Kramer Headjoints, Roland and AER.

A catalyst for positive change, Eliza’s music is inspired by nature and driven by a profound desire for human connection and compassion. Her compositions call for accumulative positive action and an understanding of our shared humanity.
