About Bat Eyes

Bat Eyes
Bat Eyes
Belgian indie rock band Bat Eyes resurface with a string of new singles, the first new material since their 2022 self-titled debut. Instead of the bright, hook-heavy songwriting that helped establish the quartet as one of Belgium’s more intriguing guitar bands, "Alamine" arrives as something smaller, softer, and purposefully blurred around the edges. A track that feels like it wandered in from another room and decided to stay.

Formed around singer-songwriter Koen Wijnant, Bat Eyes built their name on crisp powerpop melodies and a clear affection for ’90s indie rock. Operating as a focused four-piece with Luna De Bruyne, Tomas Serrien, and Birger Ameys, the new material suggests a record that moves freely between states of blur and clarity, restraint and release, and confirms that the band is just as comfortable hitting hard as they are drifting off.

With the breezy sepia-tinted single “It’s Not Real” Bat Eyes announces its sophomore album Murch, set for release on 18 September via [PIAS].
