August Charles is an Alt-Soul singer born in Ndola, Zambia and raised throughout the UK, August grew up between two worlds that cannot be more different. Influenced by the music of Frank Ocean and Leon Bridges, he first started exploring his vocal abilities at the age of 12 as a member of a Doncaster high school choir.
August Charle’s musical vocabulary includes Soul, R&B, Indie Pop and Jazz. The melancholy of his voice transcends the listener into the serenity of exploration and emotional deep diving.
More recently August Charles was listed as one of the upcoming artists to watch by BBC Introducing leading to features on BBC Radio 1 & Jazz FM. The singer-songwriter has already supported the likes of Emeli Sande & Niles Rodgers at a very early stage in his career as is set to continue shinning.
