About The Dub Collectors
The Dub Collectors are a 4-piece reggae band with heavy influences from the 1960s-70s era of Reggae, Rocksteady, and Soul. Focusing primarily on 3 part harmonies and heavy bass lines, The Dub Collectors bring a unique sound that’s both nostalgic and progressive, leaving listeners no choice but to move to the groove.
Formed in late 2019 by frontman Ryan Shadowens, The Dub Collectors spent the rest of the year writing songs and composing/rehearsing harmonies. After having their first run of shows booked and their set lists ready, The Dub Collectors we’re ready to hit the road…but Covid-19 hit first. With venues closing all over the country, the band was forced to reassess their game plan.
Fast forward to summer 2020, The Dub Collectors were finally able to start playing live shows as small venues started to reopen in their hometown of Saint Petersburg, Florida. A few months later, they decided it was time to release their first single. They went into the studio and came out with ‘Misery’ which was released on February 14, 2021.
On January 21, 2022, The Dub Collectors released their 100% self produced EP, simply titled, The Dub Collectors, to an overwhelmingly positive reception. The band has plans to release quite of bit of music over the course of 2023/2024 which will undoubtedly wash over us in a wave of enticing harmonies and a groove so deep, we’ll have no other option but to hold on and take the ride.
The Dub Collectors are:
Ryan Shadowens - Guitar/Organ; Vocals
Burnes Feaster IV - Bass; Vocals
Colin Smith - Guitar; Vocals
Oscar Matallana - Drums
