About EGRES (FI)
EGRES, formed in 2020 in Helsinki, plays cinematic, progressive metal. The band features monumental structures and orchestral elements. Their music is strongly leaning on intuition and the melodies arise from the composer's personal life.
Started as an experiment during the gloomy era of covid-19, the two founders Pekka and Veera then turned the project into a full band of six members. The debut album "Introspection" saw the daylight on June 2022. The five tracks on it are composed by Pekka Virtanen and written by Veera Hänninen. The themes revolve around experiencing humanity in its beauty and pain. After the recordings of the album Veera left the limelight of being a lead singer due to her scheduling challenges. The band has named a successor for her.
