Varia

“Varia” (pronounced “vair-ee-ah”) is a Melodic Metalcore band from Virginia, USA known for their ambient soundscapes, polyrhythmic breakdowns and singer Patrick Ryan’s high tenor range. Their lyrics often touch base on self reflection, emotional trauma and overcoming adversity.

While the name is a reference to the video game Metroid, the word itself also means “mixture”. They chose this name because it not only reflects their shared passion for gaming, but also their love for creating diverse styles of music together.

The band released their latest track, “Moonlight” on May 31st, 2024. Produced by longtime collaborator Jeff Mckinnon, it is an emotional outpouring that will serve as the third track off their upcoming album, “The Changing of Tides”.
