About Mr. Softheart

Mr. Softheart (Des Moines, Iowa) is post-punk-adjacent ‘21st Century Vision Music.’

The band’s atmospheric sound, which blends elements of post-punk and new wave, centers around lead singer Nick Fisher’s wry poetics of misdirection. In a sort of shapeshifting cubist engine, John Fisher’s genre-defying synth work joins together with Charlie Patterson’s intricate guitars and Halen Becker’s mesmerizing backing vocals to complete Mr. Softheart’s cinematic offering.

The band’s debut record ‘Magdalene in Crisis’ was released in December of 2023, and their latest EP ‘Songs for Subdued Space’ was released in July of 2024. Mr. Softheart has performed on many notable stages including Treefort Music Fest, Mission Creek Festival, and 80/35 Music Festival, and will tour the Midwest and East Coast in support of the new EP in summer 2024.
