About Wyse (UK)

Wyse’s emotional intelligence is the catalyst for her musical projects.

She is driven by a need to express difficult truths, by a visceral need to communicate the life she lives in the time in which she finds herself.

The telling of those stories in a dynamic but non-conformative way is intended to reflect a contemporary society characterised by constantly evolving change, activity and progress.

In turn her musical influences inspire a bold quest for sonic experimentation and relatable intimacy.

Wyse’s music showcases poignant, compelling lyrics propelled by infectious melodies, unexpected rhythms and percussive interludes, growling guitars and swelling synths. The digital, electronic and acoustic textures are tinged with an uplifting melancholy and an emotional vulnerability.

Her Anomalies project is borne from the melding of these emotional and sonic influences.

Release of singles Not That Sorry, Drown and Hologram in 2021 were accompanied by alternate mixes by Billy Lunn of The Subways and Kristian Bell of The Wytches and live-performance videos. The Anomalies EP released in October comprises the three singles and Wisdom.

Wyse and her band played with Berries, Echobelly, False Heads, Ciel and Lissy Taylor through the autumn in support of the EP release.

This year Wyse has had a BBC Introducing Session broadcast and received frequent BBC Introducing, XS Manchester and Amazing Radio (UK & US) airtime, Banquet Records and Drift Records support alongside features with DORK, Atwood, When The Horn Blows & Northern Revive magazines and a New Rock Radio interview.

Wyse’s next EP has been tracked ahead of release in Spring 2022 to be preceded by two singles.
