About Zilched
Chloë Drallos has been making music as Zilched since the summer of 2017, and at only 21, has been established as a scion of the underground.
Her Debut EP, Pulling Teeth, was released in 2018 and provided the first glimpse of Zilched’s dizzying, wildly unpredictable noise-pop. A sound that was only amplified and solidified in 2020’s debut LP DOOMPOP. Released on Detroit label Young Heavy Souls, DOOMPOP was met with positive reviews and exposed Drallos’ sound to a national audience.
Zilched rings true with unparalleled alt-rock authenticity and stadium-sized pop sensibilities. Drallos remains resolutely committed to a vision born from the traditions of the past, rather than beholden to them, resulting in a sound that is refreshingly now.
Alongside Drallos, collaborator Nick Russo provides a droning percussive force - and with the correct pieces in place, the explosive meets the ethereal. Drallos’ music at its best is like a Lynchian dream sequence, embodying the notorious ethos of its hometown, Detroit.
