About Priestgate

“I really love it... there is a lot of bad guitar music out there, but this is really exciting." - Lauren Mayberry (Chvrches) on BBC Radio 1

"An enchanting introduction to a group that will seemingly pour in everything with unified compassion." - So Young Magazine

"Hit a concrete wall of reverb and angelic melodies, ‘NOW’ is their latest wonder into the further realms of dream-pop." - Clout

Hailing from the sleepy rural town of Driffield in East Yorkshire, Priestgate are euphoric and full of angst in equal measure. After a stellar year of experimentation, the band have emerged out of 2020 infusing serene pop hooks with dark sensibilities drawing comparisons to the likes of The Cure and Joy Division. Through the release of singles ‘NOW’ and ‘Summ(air)’ the band have received support from new music informers So Young, DJ’s Huw Stephens (BBC Radio 1), Steve Lamacq (6Music), Shell Zenner (Amazing Radio) and Spotify Editorial (‘Hot New Bands’, ‘Alt. Rocked’)
