About Bad Camper

Not long after college I realized there had to be something more to life than living in the burbs following the life I’d been led to believe would fulfill me. I left what I knew in California to begin traveling by bicycle with my little guitar singing and writing songs, camping anywhere from forests to backyards, meeting folks along the way. This is how Bad Camper was born. Sometimes you have to travel the world to realize everything you’ve always wanted was closer than it seemed. This is the lesson that I learned after 9 months cycling across the US and Europe. During this journey I wrote the songs that would eventually become the music on our debut album “What You Love Comes Along.” As my travels continued I saved up to convert a camper/tour van, met Celia, and now with our friends we write, record and tour trying to share our music and hearts with all who will listen. Our music combines indie rock with alternative and folk influences, but anyone would agree the sound is hard to classify because of its variety. While some say my voice is reminiscent of vocalists like Brendon Urie of Panic! At The Disco, “What You Love Comes Along” also draws from the folk harmonies heard in the early releases from Of Monsters and Men, the introspective lyrical content of The Head and the Heart, and the chill energy of Sublime.

As Bad Camper’s journey continues, we’ve met new friends who are helping us record new music, videos and plan more tours. Accompanied by amazing humans Michael Abrams (Drums) and Michael Kohl (Lead Guitar) our band will perform songs new and old across the US and hopefully soon in Europe.
