About labyrinthine oceans
Armed with five too many reverb pedals and towering walls of guitar based noise, labyrinthine oceans have cemented themselves as a driving force in the alternative music scene after making a strong impression with their haunting debut studio EP ‘everyone was alive’ earlier this year. Finding influence in the likes of Radiohead, Deftones, Jeff Buckley and Title Fight, they twist the familiar sounds of the 90s alternative scene with something alien, drifting in limbo between organic and digital dreamscapes.
After fully forming in 2023, labyrinthine oceans began building momentum in the live scene, establishing a dedicated fanbase in their hometown of Newcastle-upon-Tyne by weaving a world of hazy nostalgia and distorted realities through their electrifying live show, with projected visuals to match. Soon after they branched out into other parts of the UK, drawing in crowds in London, Manchester and Brighton and leading to a regular touring schedule including dates in Belgium and France and gaining them support slots for up and coming artists like Been Stellar, Venus Grrrls and Lizzie Esau. They are now based in London and are making a strong mark on the alternative scene there, marking them as one of the most gripping bands of the underground.
