In 2018 in Austin, Texas, former members of Corpus Christi punk band The Disruptives reunited for a casual jam session. Afterwards, they decided to get the band back together. Rather than reviving what once was, they took on a new direction and Mega Negative was formed.
Their dynamic blend of grunge, punk, blues, and straight up rock and roll is complimented by lyrics about social and romantic turmoil. They have grazed the stages of several local showcases, including Locals Only, Cole Fest 2, and even their own Keep Austin Loud hard rock showcase.
Just as Mega Negative were starting to gain momentum, Covid hit the world and the world closed down. They released their debut EP Diary of Heart in May of 2020 during quarantine and are currently writing for their next album, planned for release in 2022.
Their dynamic blend of grunge, punk, blues, and straight up rock and roll is complimented by lyrics about social and romantic turmoil. They have grazed the stages of several local showcases, including Locals Only, Cole Fest 2, and even their own Keep Austin Loud hard rock showcase.
