DJ - LUI Deejay

Born and raised in Rheinfelden Switzerland, he contributed to the spread of predominantly Italian Disco Music in the Basel region from an early age. Countless trips to Rimini to the Altro Mondo Studio, the Peter Pan and other discotheques of the time left an indelible imprint on LUI Deejay's tastes. His visits to Italy's most In shop for records, the Disco Più, always ended with the purchase of countless new tracks to offer to a limited audience. But the great tradition of Funk, Soul, Jazz and Rap music from overseas also contributed to the favourites. James Brown in primis followed by Kool and the Gang, Earth Wind & Fire, Michael Jackson, Sugar Hill Gang, Grandmaster Flash and the furious Five, Patrick Cowley, and all the Italo Dance of the 1980s did the rest. In the 1990s then came the consecration. As a DJ, he won the DJ Contest for Nordwestschweiz and qualified for the round of 16 at the Black Out in Zurich. He won there as well and made it to the semi-finals at the Manhattan in Zug, where he went on to the finals at the Casino Montreux, where he achieved an excellent fourth place. From then on, countless stage's with radio collaborations. LUI Deejay, aka Lucio DJ reached the radio airwaves with a first appearance on the first Pirate Radio in Alsace. Radio Italia in St. Louis was his launching pad before joining Radio Europa, where he hosted the Hitparade for many years. He met various artists whom he interviewed including Antonello Venditi, Vasco Rossi a very young Lorenzo Cherurbini (Jovanotti) and others. As for his radio vein, he has been inspired since his youth by the sacred monsters of Italian private radio. One above all Albertino, whom he met directly in the Via Massena studios in Milan during a personal visit. Claudio Cecchetto, Linus, Federico the Flying Dutchman, Gerry Scotti and all the big names on the radio scene have always been inexhaustible sources from which he has drawn inspiration. A profound connoisseur of radio claims, he has also produced and hosted programmes at Radio Kanal K in Aarau, where he has lived with his family for over ten years. LUI Deejay is a security in the dance music and radio business.
