About Grub Lord

Grub Lord is a band that demands to be taken as unseriously as possible. Described as “Riot grrrl meets pop punk with fantastically silly lyrics and a nuclear blast of stage energy,” they refuse to be pigeonholed into a single genre (or maybe they just can’t make up their minds). If you’re a fan of distorted guitars, tight drumming, cutting vocals, skeletons, squirming, tomfoolery and hijinks, you’ll be a fan of Grub Lord.
Clawing out of the darkness of the New Hampshire seacoast, Grub Lord is bound by blood magick to the corporeal forms of Liliana Mangan (vocals, bass), Quintin Surina (guitar), Devan Roehrig (more guitar), Matthew Walsh (drums), and Declan Morrison (bass, sometimes guitar (unnecessary)). Impish and rebellious, these five friends come out swinging with their antics and shenanigans whether you’re ready or not (beware the splash zone).
A bubbling cesspit of musical influences, Grub Lord derives inspiration from the likes of Mannequin Pussy, Ghost, Bikini Kill and even TOOL. Grub Lord incorporates elements from every genre and band, from the country-style basslines in My Sword, the pop punk energy in Katy May, to the sludge metal breakdowns in Shrimp Fight and No Badges and the Megadeth and Nazgul inspired metal track Nine Kings. No genre or artist is safe from Grub Lord’s boundless assimilating and defiling grip.
Just recently out of the studio with their second EP in progress, keep an ear out for the yet-to-be-titled EP, coming out (hopefully) mid-2024.
