A small but mighty crowd enjoyed a fantastic night of music with neo-punk Omni as opening act (great choice) and Yard Act, with force-of-nature front man James Smith. I liked how intimate Metro felt, but why aren't more people flocking to Yard Act? A great band on the rise.

They were fantastic! And considering they basically just arrived from their flight from Iceland they did remarkably well. Will definitely see them anytime they play close to Twin Cities! They really know how to energize a crowd!

Absolutely fantastic show. This is a band that has hit their stride in performing, which is really saying something given how ambitious their new album is. A danceable night with an enormous amount of feeling and energy. Font were fantastic openers too. A brilliant night!

Not as good as their last SF show, but still pretty good. Feels a bit less (post-)punk, more funk…

It was an amazing performance. Energetic and engaging. I could have been richer, tho. If the they performed „rich“ :/

Very much a band at the top of their game right now, moving in a new direction and taking their earlier tunes to a whole new level with a post punk-funk feel. Highly recommend seeing them if you get chance

Yard Act gave us a fab 1st album and electric live performances. Album 2 builds on that but the live show is now a non stop tour de force . No lulls . The new additional singers give it full welly . James is a stunningly great front person . All helped by the legend that is Rock City . The best venue in the country .

Venue was just right for this show -- easy nearby parking, plenty of room to move around in, great sound, not overly crowded. Yard Act, in my mind, have improved musically by leaps and bounds within the last year, especially Ryan Needham on bass and Sam Shipstone on guitar. James Smith on vocals was very engaging with the audience. The stream-of-consciousness lyrics did not always translate well in the live show, but the audience was able to follow along, even if the lyrics were a bit muddy at times. The set was a crisp 60-plus minutes, including a nice encore of "Rich". Great experience of a soon-to-be-great band!!

What a fun performance! Yard Act put on an energetic, lively show, and I couldn't have asked for a better band to see on my birthday! The setlist was fantastic, and they played every song I wanted to hear. I also appreciated how James Smith was so personable and engaging with the audience. I would definitely see them again!

Great set from the Yard Act lads! The second band just before them was painful, a lot of people left the room including myself.

A great night, laughed so much before Banyard act entertained us, even left a message on the Rover, fix me up, it's what she wants

We love the Brudenell! It’s such a great small venue that’s run so well. The sound is great and it’s so intimate. We’re from the south so we can never stop being shocked by how cheap (and decent!) the beers are here!
Yard Act, well these guys are awesome, they always are. It was lovely to see them in such an intimate environment. They really looked relaxed and at home. Great to meet James and Ryan on their walkabouts around the venue before the gig. The gig itself was one of the weirdest and most wonderful I’ve ever been to!! The comedian Phill Jupitus selling his artwork next to the merch desk, the band doing a Q&A with Vernon Herschel Harley (a Phill Jupitus character) before the gig and to end with, them all singing Chumba Wumba with on stage with the comedian Rose Matafeo on a big screen (as unfortunately she couldn’t be there in person due to the train strikes). A good night well spent I’d say!

Great band, excellent show. Unfortunately, the venue sound leaves a lot to be desired.
2nd hig here, and although both bands have been on top form, the sound let's them down.
Toilet facilities are not good enough for a venue of this size.
Anyway, Yard Act were excellent.

Great live act! These guys have such a powerful message. Very engaging with the crowd and musically perfect

Amazing band and the Rickshaw is always a great venue. Yard Act sounded great and were so funny. Highly recommend both Yard Act and the Rickshaw!

Brilliant day out at Doune the rabbit hole. Yard Act were brilliant. Lots of good banter from James and the crowd. Liked James explaining "peanuts" to the uninitiated. The see saw will tilt in your favour. X

Great show to a packed out and enraptured Paradiso Noord - Tolhuistuin. Wasn't sure how 4 Yorkshire lads growling about the depressing rightward drift of England in recent years would go down in Amsterdam. It went down a storm! Their sound, which feels stripped back and raw on record, explodes to fill the venue with a relentless, pounding beat and baseline. Sam Shijpstone's lead guitar is faultless, energised and bloody brilliant! James is a warm, funny and engaging front man that has Amsterdam in the palm of his hand. Satirical lyrics with dark and deep meaning but delivered through catchy hooks and bounce along choruses. Yard Act have soul, talent and grit but they also have the songs to back it up. I am already checking where they are playing next. Catch them while you can in a small venue.
Amsterdam, Netherlands@Tolhuistuin
Great show, just wish the vocals were mixed a little louder, or the bass a little lower so you could hear all of the lyrics. Very charming and funny guys. Well worth seeing.
