GhostGums

GhostGums are excited to release their second single, Solid Gold. This track shows off the energy of the live show as Ghostgums' five members immerse themselves in lush guitars, pulsating synths and perhaps the only mandocaster player this side of the Great Dividing Range. Jamhound’s crooning voice carries the song with an authentically Australian approach to melody, Ghostgums’ second single Solid Gold is out now.

The first single, For Now, began its life as a love song for Jamhound’s son. It’s an important song for the group, disguising real weight under its dream pop expressions: at the start of his twenties, lead singer Jamhound was told he had suddenly become a dad, long after a breakup. Songwriting was the only way he knew to grasp with being thrown into parenthood literally overnight and is a tender account of the isolation he felt in his newfound parenthood. After starting its life as a humble demo recorded in the Blue Mountains, the song now features production from Winston Surfshirt, and was mixed by Total Giovanni’s Matt Hadley.
