About Lucas John Music
In the age of modern music, genre boundaries continue to stretch and merge, yet the contradicting reality of music consumption is heard as labeled. To recording artist and musician, Lucas John, the steadfast ingredient to his artistry is his adaptability---defined in the undefined, no mold to morph into, he’s free to create honest music that speaks to his limitless potential.
Originally from Williamsburg, Virginia, the small-town dreamer’s stadium-sized personality naturally placed him in the spotlight; as a teenager in musical theatre, a regular performer at the award winning theme park Busch Gardens, and eventually to Nashville, Tenn. as one of Music City’s top rising entertainers.
Lucas’ idyllic lyricism has granted him the opportunity to co-write with legendary troubadours like Aaron Barker (George Strait’s “I Can Still Make Cheyenne,” Lonestar’s “What About Now”), Doug Johnson (Randy Travis’ “Three Wooden Crosses”), Mark Irwin (Alan Jackson’s “Here in the Real World,” Tim McGraw’s “Highway Don’t Care”) and more. Although Southern rooted, Lucas is Rock n Roll grown and highly influenced by blue-collar rockers like Bruce Springsteen and Bryan Adams paired with the rich storytelling of Jackson Browne and James Taylor.
In 2017, Lucas released his debut single “Cue the Rain,” co-written with Trent Jeffcoat. The cinematic self-released single has garnered Lucas a vast growth in fans/followers and is a song that is frequently requested when live. The single made its television debut on Today in Nashville and was featured on iHeart Radio’s American Busker indie series.
Lucas travels with his band across much of the Midwest and East Coast to perform his high-energy set. He’s been fortunate enough to open for 1,000 Horses, play lead guitar for Levi Hummon, and play famous venues and festivals such as the Bluebird Cafe, AT&T Stadium, and Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam.
Lucas is currently in the midst of compiling material to release in the near future.
