Oranj Goodman

Seattle, WA artist Oranj Goodman has been biding his time. A career-focused rapper since he first heard Kendrick Lamar's 2012 album good kid, m.A.A.d city, he's since been developing his syrupy, passionate singing voice; expanding his creative core across mediums; weaving influences of R'n'B, funk, and indie into his hip-hop repertoire; and coming into his own as a person guided by kindness in the face of adversity and inspired by the people close to him and the beauty he sees in the world. His name reflects his values; a combination of his favorite color and his mother's maiden name. It was his mother who inspired him to become a songwriter when she introduced him to Billy Joel's "The Stranger." Billy Joel, among John Lennon, and Paul McCartney, remains his lyrical hero.
