About Mulysa Dark
Born in the town of Conway, South Carolina, Mulysa Dark was consistently surrounded by music as a child. Her mother was a musician and a single mom, struggling to make ends meet to give her child the best possible childhood she could have. Through her close bond with her mother, she learned about the art of songwriting- how words on a page could take on another life in the studio, and how a few verses can sound so much more powerful over a beautiful chord progression.
At age 16, Mulysa picked up her first professional microphone, and from there she began writing songs for fun and thought nothing of it. Now, at 20 years old, Mulysa reflects back on her childhood and her passion for music. Music is an outlet for her, writing about the struggles she went through with her mother, the pain she felt around her ex lovers and peers, and even her struggles with abusive friendships and drugs, as mentioned in her single "Take It".
