Growing up, Birmingham based Alternative Pop Artist, Jimmy R wasn’t from a musical family, however felt drawn to performance and so began taking on parts in musicals and screaming out Nirvana covers as the frontman in several rock bands. However, it wasn’t until he got to sixth form that he began composing his own music. Exposed to the compositions of John Cage, Steve Reich and Kaija Saariaho, whilst also discovering the music of Radiohead, Jeff Buckley and Lewis Del Mar, his musical style began to slowly mature.

It was this that inspired Jimmy to experiment with soundscape-type textures alongside deep bass lines, trippy drums and thought provoking lyrics, the stylistic blueprint for which was put in place Jimmy’s late band, ‘Pluviam’. This unique style was the catalyst for the band achieving radio play from Janice Long on BBC Radio Wales, as well as air time from North Manchester FM and Heat FM. The band also achieved press features from music blog, Loud Horizon and West Midlands newspaper, The Express and Star.


His upcoming EP “Warmth” has been written, recorded and nurtured in his old room at his parents’ house where he grew up and spent the majority of his life shaping his craft. Every second of each track has been bathed in nostalgia, laced in thought provoking lyrical content and is awaiting a highly anticipated release in early 2021.
