Jay Ricochet is a Country Music/Southern Rock artist from Devils Lake, ND. He has been singing and performing for over 30 years. His love for country music stems back to his childhood. He would sit and listen to the original "Outlaws" Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, and Merle Haggard in the cab of his father’s Rig. This introduction to country music solidified his love of the lyrics and truth behind every note played by the artist.
Over the years Jay has performed in multiple bands with varying styles that include Rock, Southern Rock, Heavy Metal and Country. But his heart has always been with the pure uncompromising beauty of Country Music. In the winter of 2016 he decided it was time to get back to his roots and hit the stage singing songs by the greats such as Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard, and David Allan Coe just to name a few.
Jay and his Band The BFD perform 4 one hour sets of some of the best Country and Southern Rock music ever produced, and have been touring tirelessly for the last 3 years. Jay's original songs "Like Hank Knew Whiskey" and "12 Bar Blues" are currently being played on Country Stations across the U.S. and Europe. He was nominated for Male Vocalist Of The Year for the 2019 International Singer Songwriter Association Awards and won Outlaw Country Artist Of The Year for the 2019 Josie Awards.
