D. Isaiah Starling, also known as DJ Zay, graduated from Omaha Central High school he has always been around music. In church, the Jazz choir, simply from hanging with his brother who gave him his first cassette tapes. At the age of 16, Isaiah Starling received his first thought of wanting to become a DJ. At this point, he had already traveled from Connecticut to Nebraska. His older brother along with his dad were the two who influenced his knowledge of music. He found his dad’s old turntables in the basement with over a 1,000 old records.
He soon would have the passion to always listen to music and develop the concept of what was popular in the homes of his future audience. As his passion grew, his peers took notice. They started to rely on Isaiah’s music selection, which is loved across the nation. Soon he would be known as DJ Zay, the name was given to him from one of his teammates. DJ Zay’s first works we’re in banquets, weddings, private events, and house parties.
By the time Isaiah turned 19, he began to study the criteria of a legendary DJ. DJ Zay was a very quick learner. He studied other DJs, like DJ Mister Soul, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Grandmaster Flash, Jam Pony Express, DJ Kid Capri, Doug E. Fresh, and DJ Kool Herc. Moving to Florida helped DJ Zay gain a broader touch to fans state to state as well as nationwide. Now Djing in Orlando, New York, New Orleans, Bahamas, Jamaica, Amsterdam, Alabama, Atlanta, California just to say a few. He soon would get signed with Bulls Radio Station in 2015. He also teams up with the with IDVES DJ’s alongside DJ Ron, DJ Double Up, and DJ Chance.
The following year, he relocated to Florida to continue growing his passion. Due to his what seems to be an instant success, he obtained dual-residency between Orlando and Tampa. Recurring performances included Beacham in Orlando and Green Gators & Peabody’s in Tampa.
Those first gigs was a huge stepping stone of elevating the DJ Zay brand. After doing this, he landed an opening for female RnB artist, Dej Loaf, who was at her peak career with her hit single, Try Me. He continued to open for mainstream artists like Wiz Khalifa, Mac Miller, the Migos, Nas, Kodak Black, and many other top musicians.
In 2016 is when DJ Zay became incorporated as a business providing DJs with equipment along with gigs that can become consistent each month. His business has now grown to over 13 DJs in the company along with ventures in engineering for private events.
DJ ZAY offers one of the most high-quality djing experiences in Florida. DJ Zay Entertainment’s mission statement is to have quality, professionalism, experience, and dependability and this has been the cornerstones whenever he is apart of an event. DJ Zay Entertainment has grown to become more than just your “average” Disc Jockey Service. Contrary to many DJs, DJ Zay is concerned with and caters to the feedback of his fans. He generates hit mixes regularly. These mixes live way past their seasons and can be heard all across the nation. DJ Zay takes pride in the work that he produces and settles for nothing less than the best quality sound. He understands the importance of being consistent, versatile and impulsive within the entertainment business.
DJ Zay has many plans for the future and is determined to turn his goals into accomplishments.
