About Paul Saint John and the Nighthawks
Hailing from the East Coast of Scotland, an Award Winning Singer Songwriter who quit the UK music business then relocated to the United States. After a 15 year hiatus he started performing live again in the Summer of 2013, already a major name on the Philadelphia Music scene due to his powerful live performance's. His songs have been featured nationwide on syndicated radio networks, Radio stations and Music blogs throughout Europe and North America,and worldwide on internet radio, as well as on promotional release's for Music Festivals, and Music Conference's. His Folk Rock sound is a touch of old school Tom Waits and Bob Dylan mixed with David Gray's songwriting quality and the raw power of The Tallest Man on Earth. Now performing at premiere Music venues in the Philadelphia region and at upcoming Music Conferences and Festivals throughout the East Coast. His critically acclaimed Debut Album - Eleventeen released in August 2013. Eleventeen, made Popa's Tunes Top 10 Albums of 2013. This was followed by the upbeat single Finn McCool, released in February 2014. Having signed two publishing deals the aim is to have his music break with TV and Movie going audiences. The EP - Panic Merchant, was released in October 2014, the stripped down four song EP recorded Live on vintage equipment at Kawari Sound. It has already been played on the nationally syndicated Radio show - The International Americana Radio Show, and WXPN 88.5FM among many others. The Single - The Great North Road, fusing Americana, Folk, and Country was released in April 2015, followed by the Single - Happy is the Cloud, in August 2015. 2015 has already brought his stunning Live performance's to Radio - ( Nationally Syndicated Shows as well as In-Studio performances including WSTW 93.7FM, WSMC 90.3FM, WNJR 91.7 FM and featured on Syndicated Radio Show Up Close and Acoustic) Music Festivals - (including stunning live performances at The New Jersey Folk Festival, The 54th Philadelphia Folk Festival, and on standby for NXNE.) Music Conference's - ( Patriot News - "Concert not to miss" at Millennium Music Conference ) Liberty Music Fest, Cape May Singer Songwriter,and Make Music Philly where he showcased as the main act at the premiere venue. Press - ( Best of Philly 2014 Playlist , Concerts not to miss, NJ Folk Festival interview ) Pandora - ( his songs continue to find a new worldwide audience through Pandora and Spotify ) Music Showcases - PHL LIVE, Beta HiFi Emerging Artist Showcase, where only the premiere talent in the Tri State performed. Music Releases - ( All the Kings Horses from Eleventeen was on the April 2015 Compilation Folk America from Altco Recordings ). November 2015 brought regional awareness to his songwriting with the opening slot for Legendary UK Songwriter Al Stewart at a packed out Colonial Theatre in Phoenixville PA. February 5th 2016 brought the release of his EP - By Industry We Flourish. The devastating double Achilles tears brought all the music to an end in Spring 2016, and with that an almost 4 year hiatus ensued. Fast forward to fall 2019, Paul Saint John is back, joined by the fantastic rhythm section of driven drum and bass known as The Nighthawks. Currently recording with a view to a 2020 release, Paul Saint John and the Nighthawks are performing at select venues in the Tri state area. New single - Carry On to be relesed January 18th 2020.
