About Paul Oneto
“…so I packed up everything I owned into my Mini Cooper and headed west."
In the wake of a band breakup and a newly exed girlfriend, Paul Oneto left everything behind and drove across the country to start a new life in California. A songwriter who resides in the nostalgic, with the melodic ambient qualities of indie folk artists like Band of Horses and haunting lyrical stylings reminiscent of Jeff Buckley, Paul has found his voice in Sonoma County and uses it to share heartfelt songs that explore love, life, and loneliness.
Born and raised in Connecticut’s New Haven County, Paul got his first guitar at the age of eight years old after endless begging and making his parents play Beatles For Sale perpetually in their living room. At eighteen, Paul moved to New York City for school and became infatuated with seeing bands at clubs like CBGB and The Bowery Ballroom. He began immersing himself in artists like Jets To Brazil and Elliott Smith and decided he would dedicate his life to music. It was during this time that Paul’s songwriting became intensely introspective and emotional. Paul stayed active along the eastern seaboard until his move west in 2014, playing in numerous bands and working as a producer/engineer for friends’ bands as well as his own.
Paul can now be spotted performing at open mics local to Sonoma and Marin Counties, developing output for his upcoming releases. You can listen to his latest EPs “Virtually Together” and "Strange" on all major streaming services.
