‘Changing’ no need to Melody!
but if it’s even possible; her voice , lyrics and delivery is next level!!
The Jazz Lab was intimate and acoustically great.

From the first note of her acapella opening to her closing number she and Chris Dale were mesmerising. Fantastic banter, a well planned set list taking us on a unique journey, and such purity in voice and instruments (except for that D/A minor moment LOL - those who were there will understand the reference). Melody is well worth seeing live whenever you get the chance.

About Melody Pool
Melody Pool is an acclaimed Australian singer-songwriter whose career has been marked by both personal growth and musical evolution. With a distinctive blend of ethereal vocals and emotionally resonant songwriting, Pool has earned herself a prominent place in the Australian music scene. Her debut album The Hurting Scene (2013) quickly garnered attention, leading to a record deal with Mushroom Group and opportunities to support legendary acts like The Eagles, Rodriguez, and Tina Arena.
Following her sophomore album Deep Dark Savage Heart, which explored her struggles with mental health, Pool took a step back from her career to focus on her well-being, sharing her journey in a powerful episode of ABC's Australian Story. After a six-year hiatus, she made a much-awaited return with the EP Lost in Time (2023), signalling her growth as an artist and songwriter.
Now, with her highly anticipated third studio album on the horizon, Pool continues to push creative boundaries. Recorded live onto 6-inch, 24-track tape at Golden Retriever Studios, the album’s singles, Fantasy Girl and Changing, have already captivated listeners, and the third single, Will Not Let You Down, offers a glimpse into the rich sonic landscape of what’s to come. Pool’s work remains a reflection of her unwavering commitment to artistic expression and personal authenticity.
“Sublime. Tender and pure, yet laced with an almost guttural sadness” – Rolling Stone Australia
“One of the most accomplished debuts by an Australian singer-songwriter for many years” – Iain Shedden
“Intense self-reflection and post-therapy frankness” – Rhythms
“Her long time fans who have followed her for more than a decade love the deeply confessional, sometimes heart-wrenching and always life-affirming authenticity of her work” – Australian Musician
“Beautiful and passionate but not dumbed-down for easy digestion” – The Herald Sun
