Dua Empat

Hailing from Jakarta, Dua Empat stands as a Jazz Guitar Duo consisting of Alvin Ghazalie and Misi Lesar. Started out as friends who majored in Conservatory of Music, now a power duo. They enhanced their passion that inspired them to proliferate jazz music amongst Indonesia’s youths. Three of their previous albums: Two Of A Kind (2017), Swinging Down The Chimney (2017) & Head In The Clouds (2021) received tremendous enthusiasm and has eversince opened their chances to get to know and collaborate with some calibre musicians, such as Benny Benack III (NYC), Keita Ogawa (Snarky Puppy), Endah N Rhesa, Mondo Gascaro, Barry Likumahuwa, Ify Alyssa, Asteriska “Barasuara” and many others. Dua Empat has received nominations in two categories at the 26th AMI Awards and won ‘Best Jazz Album’. One of theirs songs from “Swinging Down The Chimney” was also nominated for AMI awards in 2018. For the past years, Dua Empat has been also given the opportunity to perform in several festivals in Indonesia and Asia: Singapore Jazz Festival, Esplanade, Java Jazz Festival, Joey Alexander Asia Tour, Jazz Gunung Bromo, Ubud Village Jazz Festival, Jazz Goes To Campus, Indonesia Jazz Day to name a few.
