About Ucci Why
France is well known for its food and wine but maybe not enough for its incredible mix of cultures. Ucci Why was born in Nancy, from two bulgarian parents. Pushing through gaps between bulgarian and french culture she has found her happiness in english spoken rap & music. Some fans have called her the feminine version of Eminem.
In a country proud of its language, UCCI WHY is constantly challenging the status quo of french produced music, not only through her english, but as well as a woman rapping in a world mostly represented by men. Her lyrics and flow will make you question more than one philosophical issue.
Having released a first album of jazzy hip hop and a second of reggae hip hop since 2013 as Cybool, she is now coming back as Ucci Why, to her favorite genre : alternative hip hop. 2019 has been a year of collaboration with beatmakers and singers both locally and internationally.
May 2019 was a turning point for UCCI WHY as she took the decision to quit her day job as a graphic designer to focus only on music. Fans have been very supportive and extremely impatient to hear her new projects.
Ucci’s aim in music is to achieve a flow state of feeling good. Her lyrics pursue wisdom and colourfulness. Although it appears only slightly in her songs for now, the well-being of our planet is an extremely important topic for her. She believes in doing good and spreading love.
