Transcontinental Sound System

Transcontinental Sound System is a musical duo consisting of Eric Cosentino (g, v, electronics) and Jeff Angell (b, percussion, loops), who use original songwriting as a springboard to explore sonic possibilities using old and new technology. Reunited in 2019 after Jeff repatriated from living in Cameroon for 3 years where he performed and recorded with local musicians (including members of Youssou N'Dour's band) and Eric had been exploring and releasing electronic music with Harold Nono (Bearsuit Records), they began exploring percussive loops from Jeff's new rhythmic sensibilities and a suitcase full of instruments gathered in Africa. From there, they expanded their sound by incorporating Eric's evocative use of the guitar and electronics. The result is ever evolving.
