NewType Canadians

NewType Canadians is a Canadian rock band formed in Toronto, Canada in 2016 by lead singer Suen Suen. The band officially classify themselves as an alternative rock band, but incorporate elements of indie pop, post-punk, Grunge, Japanese rock and pop rock into their sound. After 2018 March, the band decide to distance themselves from the music scene to prepare their first album: “Don’t Be Indifferent”. While the lead singer Suen Suen undergoes a chronic disease that led him to slow down from the progress of the group, they continue to advance with their studio recording and finally have their album completed by September 2019 and also announced their first Debut Album Release Concert.

NewType Canadians does not limit themselves with music genres and techniques, while they incorporate multi genres into their own musical formats. Mainly gravitated towards song structures more along the lines of contemporary North American fusion genres and Asian rock and roll genres (noticeably Japanese). “There are a lot to work with in our music, and reformatting and rearrangement to the limitless possibilities is something we hope to take pride in.” Stage presence wise, NewType Canadians emphasizes dramatic and theatrical alike showmanship while maintaining a strong flavour of rock and roll band in a combination of graceful, eccentric, dispirited, flamboyant and wild like.

Paying respect to enduring legacy of the most distinctive sounds of the old; yet embracing the multicultural nature of Canada. The band wish to create a new hearing of music embracing these traits, then this births NewType Canadians.
