About Lawttery

“The Speed and Adrenaline of Punk meets the Melodic Aggression of Metal to form Lawttery!”

Lawttery Frontman Austin Lawrence began his musical journey at 15 years old, bringing a life long love of all things rock and roll with him as he picked up his first guitar before he could even drive a car.

That journey would eventually take him through 4 different bands that played throughout the Casa Grande and Phoenix AZ areas, eventually peaking with a gig at the Arizona State Fair and as an opening act for national artist Saving Abel at Joe's Grotto in 2015.

Shortly thereafter Lawrence's most recent band, Re-Koil, disbanded and Lawrence took a 2 year hiatus from his music career and from the Arizona Music Scene. In January of 2018 the musical light within turned back on for Lawrence, and he picked back up the guitar and set out to finish what he started and achieve his lifelong dream since he was a teenager, which was to perform an original song on Saturday Night Live.

In the summer of 2018 Lawrence came within one number of winning the Arizona Lottery Fantasy 5 Jackpot. Shortly afterwards, long time friend and fellow artist Malik Austin, also known as “Arizona Alias”, suggested Lawrence name his new band Lawttery, as it made him think immediately of wealth and success. The name stuck and the band had its new and official identity from there.

In the Fall of 2018 Angel Salazar, an extremely talented Metal Drummer from Casa Grande, joined Lawttery as Lawrence began to put together the bands first single and project, a Hard Rock Remake of the 1983 Debbie Deb Hit “When I Hear Music”.

Shortly thereafter Rey Santana joined on Rythym Guitar and Vocals, and Lawttery made it in the Casa Grande Dispatch Newspaper for filming a scene from the “When I Hear Music” video at the Carr McNatt Skate Park, which featured a guest appearance by the Big House Bombers Roller Derby Team in it as well. Ironically the skate park would close down 3 days later.

Lawttery has crafted its sound using a classic songwriting style from the 90's and 2000's era and combined it with the pure aggression of rock and metal today. Continuing with its Lottery based theme, the band has named its debut album “Mega Millions, which is set to release in January of 2020, along with its debut single, “When I Hear Music”, which will release in September of 2019.
