Ocean Elizabeth

Nashville-based acoustic-electric duo Ocean Elizabeth has a peerless way of marrying insightful lyrics with memorable melodies. Their songs about the human experience, which are remarkably specific while simultaneously notably universal, easily sink into the souls of their listeners through soaring choruses and often dissonant harmonies. They’ve also proven to be really good at marrying each other. Both starting their musical journeys at a young age, Cameron and Jes crossed paths in Nashville in 2010 and married in 2012.

Influenced by both modern pop like Vampire Weekend and Sigrid as well as the vintage guitar and vocal sounds of Fleetwood Mac, the duo also blends Cameron’s exceptional guitar playing, he holds a degree in Commercial Guitar from Belmont University, with Jes’ innovative lyric writing, she holds a degree in Communication with a natural-born proclivity to poetry.

By combining their skill sets, Cameron and Jes are proud to have full control of their music in the recording process from the songwriting, to performance of all the instruments, to the full production of every track. The result is a vulnerable and industrious sound that cuts to the core of the listener's emotions.

Making music together seemed inevitable for the creative couple, and while they have each had their share of stage time in a range of venues like The Troubadour and The Viper Room in Los Angeles to countless churches across North America, they share a passion for the intimate setting of the live “house concert” where the listeners become just as much a part of the music as their own voices and instruments. Coming off of the release of their first-ever single as a duo, More Than They Take, a contemplative acoustic ballad, Ocean Elizabeth has just released Yelling Fire, their latest project that highlights their multifarious production style.
