Nestled somewhere between R&B, lo-fi hip-hop and ambient, their lush atmospheres and soulful rhythms are quickly becoming well known in the world of electronic music. Lumae’s presence as performers is now opening more doors than ever as they deliver their debut EP, Thoughts, on the fast-rising Swiss label, Quartz Records.
LUMAE’s present stage setup includes guitars, numerous keyboards with synthesizers, drum pads and even a stage piano. They both sing during each performance, and some of their songs allow for instrumental solos and other improvisations. It is only with such a personal touch that they could execute the subtle tension that gives their soft sound its enigmatic quality.
