About LIGHTCHILD Official
Influenced by Japan's fantastical futurism and New York City's gritty art-music scene, LIGHTCHILD's music is a synesthetic swirl of sound. Blending Jpop, synth rock and hints of funk - 01001- LIGHTCHILD'S debut album, is cinematic with an electronic/experimental edge and lyrics that expose a deep soul on a spiritual journey.
Born and raised in Japan, LIGHTCHILD grew up between two worlds. Her music career began with the study of classical violin under the tutelage of Roberta Guaspari and Lynelle Smith of Opus 118 Harlem School of Strings. She achieved remarkable success at a young again, performing for Quincy Jones, President Obama, with the NY Philharmonic, at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. By age 13, she composed her first songs with influences from Stevie wonder, Utada Hikaru, and Janet Jackson, among others.
Having strong visual aesthetics, LIGHTCHILD has collaborated with film directors and composers on several soundtracks, including Sorry To Bother You (2018), and The First Purge (2018) . LIGHTCHILD is debuting with her first solo record, 01001, which she wrote, composed, sung and produced herself.
