About Chris Pohlson

Chris grew up in Ottumwa, a small working class town in southeast Iowa. He started playing guitar at 13 and was drawn to the sounds of the west coast at a young age. He was influenced early on by artists such as Dick Dale, the Beach Boys, Reel Big Fish, and Jack Johnson. At one point in the early 2000’s, Chris saw a Keller Williams show and quickly bought his first looper (a boss roland rc-20). Around this time Chris moved to Boston to attend Berklee College of Music. It was in Boston that his love of American roots music grew.

Chris has been playing for crowds large and small throughout the years as he has perfected his sound and looping techniques. He has performed on stage for a sold out Carnegie Hall (yes, that Carnegie Hall) and under dimly lit, neon beer signs for just a handful of locals. Wherever Chris is performing, it’s apparent that he loves to create music.

Chris is especially proud of his latest project, an Americana album titled “Gold”. He hopes to release the project in Spring of 2020.
