Shannon Renee Sings

Singer/songwriter Shannon Renee has been singing since the tender age of four, has trained with some of the country's most talented musicians and has performed at theaters, concert halls and churches up and down the East Coast. However, nothing has influenced this singer's stirring melodies like her passionate faith in Christ. Drawing from God's forgiveness, healing and redeeming grace in her own life, Shannon uses her ministry of song to shine a light into the darkest corners of people's souls and to offer encouragement, insight and Inspiration for Life's Journey.

A native of New Jersey and currently living in Virginia, Shannon's own musical journey began with a performance at her sister's day care program when she was six and went on to include singing in gospel choirs at her church and schools, music lessons at the Trenton Conservatory of Music, and as a teen, singing in talent shows and at weddings and composing and arranging her first song, "Thank You, Mom." While at Delaware State College, she began performing regularly as a back-up singer with the band Faizon.

Shannon has worked hard at her craft, studying with Jenkins Brothers Music Academy in Trenton, New Jersey, and BGA School of the Arts in Richmond, Virginia. Thanks to this dedication, the gospel songstress' gutsy voice has only grown stronger, and in 2008, she was invited to share the stage with R&B and jazz greats Terisa Griffin and Jean Carne at the "Better Love Yourself Foundation" trunk event in Philadelphia.

Throughout it all, the life experiences of this daughter, sister, mother, wife and psychiatric nurse have strengthened her faith and trust in Christ, and in turn, have been the catalyst for her to motivate and encourage others. Inspired by gospel, house, R&B, jazz and inspirational divas and gents, past and present, Shannon's unforgettable voice and poignant lyrics have captivated live audiences for years. Soon, her debut CD, "Trust," produced by Trower Music Group, will spread her musical testimony to an even wider audience.

"Trust," her first single, displays the confidence and accomplished vocals of a studio veteran. The backing track, created by TMG's own DJ J'Shon in collaboration with DJ Savoy of Soul Elevation Music, anchor Shannon's inspirational message with bouncing, old school-style piano chords and persistent percussive elements. While a warm bass line and percussion groove rattle the sound system, the focus remains firmly on Shannon's stand-out vocals.
