About Cal N Pickles
Music of Castlemaine based songwriting duo ‘Cal N Pickles’ enfuses traditional folk ballads with a contemporary urban sound.

The duo, consisting of Callum Ramage and Corinne Nicholls combine acoustic guitar, piano driven melodies and expansive vocals to create a rich and unique sound. The result is an intensity of feeling that culminates in a powerful experience for the listener.

With influences from urban Indie folk and Australian alt-country music; the likes of Angus and Julia Stone, Liz Stringer, and Jen Cloher. The music of Cal N Pickles both engages with and reflects upon life in 21st century Australia.

In this way their songs are inspired by the local culture and natural surroundings of Victoria’s central goldfields region where they have lived for a number of years.

The music itself has a goldfields influence, the feeling of the countryside, the scent of eucalyptus forests and the sense of life in a small community. You also feel the presence and importance of songs sung around the piano, the traditional heart and soul of the home, the place where stories are shared.

The duo have drawn inspiration not only from their surroundings but also from their experience of raising a young family in country Victoria. Their first single, ‘Baby Blue’ is about parenthood.

‘Cal N Pickles’ perform regularly at venues across the region.
