About NAM - Note A Margine
The music of NAM (originally "Note a Margine" or “Footnotes”, which became an acronym during performances abroad) comes from the melodic grandeur and the emotion of sound. These two elements, present in all their compositions, best express the shared musical idea, expressed through a jazz reference language.
The sound of Nam is recognizable and evocative and makes the drumless trio's minimalism one of its strengths.
Written and improvised parts follow one another in a game of sound exchange that goes from the sweet and warm timbre of the flugelhorn to the dynamic richness, sometimes blues, of the guitar to the captivating rhythmic and harmonic boost of the double bass. The fusion of genres and sounds makes the listening experience suggestive and welcoming.
The evolution of this musical discourse has led the NAM to face, in the studio and live, the possibility of completing their sound with elements such as vocals, percussions and electronics. Nowadays, when technical circumstances allow it, NAM’s live set is enriched by the presence, in some tracks, of rhythmic and harmonic settings generated by analog synthesizers.
During the summer of 2019 the NAM will be busy with the "Mediterranean Tour 2019" introducing singles from the forthcoming album "Note A Margine".
