About Harmony on Mars
Harmony on Mars is the psychedelic punk duo of brothers Maxwell and Jackson White. Their sound blends a chaotic combination of influences ranging from filmmakers David Lynch and Jim Jarmusch to J.J. Cale, Sabbath, the Black Lips, inviting you to step outside the mundane and embrace your inner freak.
Harmony on Mars have shared stages with acclaimed international artists such as Etran de L'Aïr, Warmduscher, Mattiel, Levitation Room, hooveriii, Daddy Long Legs, Crows, Wolf Parade drummer Arlen Thompson’s side project Annunaki, Sloan keyboardist Gregory Macdonald’s COLA WARS, Population II, Grammy winner Alex Cuba, Future Punx, rapper DijahSB and showcased at festivals such as Canadian Music Week/Departure, NXNE, Wintersong, Folk on The Rocks and The Rise BMX Festival.
Harmony on Mars are currently working on their debut album and have released a single (Don’t Stand Still, American Gods OST), two EP’s and an imaginary film score and have been dubbed “The Tegan and Sara of psychedelic post-punk”, while also being compared to the Doors, Lou Reed, Dead Meadow, The Saints, Spacemen 3 and Queens of the Stone Age.
In addition to the band, Maxwell and Jackson are session musicians, composers and sound designers for film and television. Their performances and songs have been heard in shows on Paramount+, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Crave and Bell Fibe TV1. They are also producers and band members of electro punk outfit Sunshine Bandits who have received early praise from dark wave legends Cold Cave.
