About Fables of the Fall
Fables of the Fall is an acoustic Denver-based chamber punk quartet, combining elements of chamber music with the raw energy of bluegrass, punk, and metal. They come from a variety of musical backgrounds with unexpected influences such as Devotchka, Gogol Bordello, Fiona Apple, and Tool.
Formed in 2017 when Schwa Michel (banjo) and Derrick McGuire (mandolin) took their bluegrass and punk background and joined forces with classical cellist Dana Shin, Fables of the Fall has been stretching traditional folk with their heavy epic sound. Since adding Lindsey Gardner in 2018 on piano and vocals, layered vocal harmonies on top of their experimental folk sound makes for a wild ride.
