About Rogers & Butler

ZIP Records announces the release of the debut CD from ROGERS & BUTLER. The new EP titled Diana Dors features Edward Rogers on lead vocals and Stephen Butler (Smash Palace) on lead vocals, guitar and organ. All the songs on Diana Dors were co-written by Rogers & Butler. The EP also features Sal Maida (Roxy Music, Sparks) on bass guitar, Dennis Diken (The Smithereens) on drums and the EP’s producer, Don Piper (Syd Straw) on guitar and backing vocals. Rogers and Butler first met and bonded over a mutual love and respect for British singer-songwriter Duncan Browne. Their friendship turned into a song writing partnership resulting in the duo’s debut EP, Diana Dors. Zip Records has scheduled a February 8, 2019 release date for the CD.

Edward Rogers is a British-born, NYC-based singer / songwriter and DJ with seven solo albums and has been compared to Ray Davies and Kevin Ayers in his singing and songwriting style. Edward has toured in the US, Europe and the UK on several occasions recently. He has been invited to open for artists such as The Zombies, Dave Davies (The Kinks), Colin Blunstone (The Zombies) Ian Hunter and Terry Reid and has also performed many solo shows. Most recently, he was on a U.S. tour with Marty Willson-Piper (The Church, All About Eve, The Saints).

Stephen Butler is an American singer, guitarist and songwriter. His career started in NYC, after being discovered by Hilly Kristal, owner of CBGB's, who managed Butler and his band Quincy. They were signed to Columbia Records by Paul Atkinson (former guitarist w/ the Zombies). When Quincy broke up Butler, with his new band, Smash Palace, inked a deal with Epic Records. Smash Palace has recorded 12 records, and has toured extensively over the years in the USA, Canada and the UK. Butler has opened for and toured with INXS, The Records, The Yachts, The Moody Blues, Peter Frampton, Van Morrison and numerous other acts during his career.
